Halloween TV – What to Watch?

Halloween is coming again and this year should be a fun one. I have to admit I enjoy watching some good Halloween movies and shows on TV during October to get me ready for the big day! And by the way did you know that in Central Iowa our Beggars’ Night tradition goes back to 1938! During the 30’s there was vandalism and mischief happening on Halloween night. Some people became concerned for the safety and well-being of their children who would typically go trick-or-treating on that same night. To help reduce this fear, the City of Des Moines created Beggars’ Night. This cut down the crime on October 31st, so it became a tradition we still celebrate today in Central Iowa. So now we must tell a joke or riddle to get that piece of candy on October 30th.

So back to Halloween on television. Let’s be honest how many people have satellite or cable tv anymore? Check out some of the great Halloween shows coming in October to watch!
